Milton served on the church council and township boards and census. Milton was especially proud of getting his private pilot’s license. Milton and Charlotte farmed and raised Black Angus cattle throughout the years, in his free time Milton loved to hunt, fish, and golf. Together they had five children, Lance, Michael, David, Paul, and Kathleen, 13 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. Milton married Charlotte Bonde on Januat the Lutheran Church in Michigan, ND. Milton attended one year of school in Fargo, ND at NDSU where he developed his love for Bison football. He attended country school in Melvin Township through the 8th grade and graduated from high school in Petersburg. Milton was born on the family farm south of Petersburg, ND on to Nettie (Johnson) Barney and George Charles Barney. Milton Oliver Barney, age 94, resident of Michigan, ND, passed peacefully on Thursday, at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota, ND with family at his side.
